Dhaba Style Matar Paneer /How to Make Restaurant Style Matar Paneer /Easy and Quick Matar Paneer

Matar Paneer is very common dish prepared prepared across all over India. This recipe consists of cottage cheese cubes and green peas cooked in onion tomato gravy.




Preparation Time:- 40 minutes
servings:- 4
Ingredients:-


  • Cottage cheese - 250 grams
  • Green peas - 200 grams
  • Onion - 2 medium size
  • Tomato - 3 medium size
  • Garlic cloves - 6-8
  • Ginger - 1 1/2 inch
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  • Black cardamom - 1
  • Green cardamom - 2
  • Cloves -2
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri Red chilly powder- 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Green coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Deshi ghee - 1tbsp
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste


Method:-





  • In a pan add 2 tbsp of oil and shallow fry the paneer cubes till light golden.
  • Takeout paneer cubes from the pan.
  • Now in the same pan add diced onion and saute it for 2 minutes.
  • Now add garlic cloves and ginger slices and saute it for a minute.
  • Add roughly chopped tomatoes and 1/2 tsp of salt, cover the pan with lid and cook it for 2 minutes.
  • After 2 minutes open the lid ,let it cool and make a fine paste out of it.
  • In another pan heat 2 tablespoon of oil, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
  • At the same time add bay leaf ,cinnamon stick black and green cardamom.
  • Now add onion tomato paste and cook for 3 to 4 minutes by covering the lid.
  • Remove the lid and add frozen green peas mix well.
  • Add a glass of water, mix well cover with lid and cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
  • After 4 minutes, remove the lid, mix and add fried paneer and kasoori methi.
  • Mix well and after sometime add green coriander leaves and garam masala powder.
  • Mix well, cover with lid and cook for 2 minutes so that all the flavours mix nicely and paneer becomes soft.
  • Now the final step of this recipe that is add tadka to sabji. 
  • In a tadka pan heat 1 tbsp of deshi ghee and add 1/4 tsp of kashmiri red chilly powder and pour it over the sabji. 
  • This tadka instantly enhance the colour and flavour of the sabji to many folds.
  • Your yummy matar paneer is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with roti, naan,  paratha, puri or rice.
