Crispy Spicy French Fries / Masala French Fries / How to make Spicy French Fries

When it comes for snack or party starter no doubt french fries are the most favourite among all age group. Especially kids don't stop eating it.

In this recipe I  give classic french fries a spicy flavour by adding seasoning and extra crunch by adding wheat flour. Hope you all love this version of french fry.

Here I am using very less spices as I am making for my kids, you can add more spices according to your taste.




Preparation time:- 20 minutes
servings:- 2

Ingredients:-

  • Potato- 2 medium sized( peeled)
  • Wheat flour- 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Chilly flakes- 1/2 tsp
  • Mixed herbs- 1 tsp
  • Salt- 1tsp
  • Oil- for frying


Method:-





  • Slice potatoes into french fries and put it into cold water so they won't turn brown.
  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Meanwhile , In a large bowl take potato slices and add cumin powder, black pepper powder, salt, chilly flakes and mixed herbs and mix well.
  • Now add wheat flour and mix well.
  • Now  start placing potato slices in hot oil one by one otherwise they will clump together.
  • Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and drain excess oil on paper towel.
  • Your crispy crunchy and spicy french fries are ready.
  • Serve hot will tomato sauce.

Spinach Paratha /Green Paratha /Palak Paratha /How to make Palak Paratha


 Palak Paratha  is a nutritious Yummy recipe often served as a breakfast. in this recipe wheat flour, spinach and little spices are added to make it flavorful.

When it comes for children it is the best option to add some greens to their diet as most of them are not fond of spinach. But this way they have it happily. This is  most healthy lunch box option for kids.

Very easy to make and doesn't require any side this, this is the best option for your lunch or dinner too. you can have it with curd , pickle, tomato sauce.






Preparation Time:- 30 minutes
servings:- 8-10 parathas

Ingredients:-

  • Whole wheat flour- 2 cups or 300 grams( 11/2 cups for dough and 1/2 cup for dusting)
  • Spinach- 250 grams
  • Green chilly- 1 or 2
  • Garlic- 3-4 cloves
  • Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Oil or ghee- 1/4 cup or as required (here I am using ghee)

Method-

  • Rinse the spinach leaves nicely.
  • Put the spinach leaves in boiling hot water for 2-3 minutes, drain the water and let it cool.
  • In a blender take blanched spinach leaves, garlic cloves and ginger and make a puree out of it.
  • Now in a large bowl take the flour , carom seeds and salt.
  • Add spinach puree and make a soft dough, if require add water or spinach stock for dough.
  • Take a medium size ball from the dough and roll it into a small circle.
  • Spread some ghee on the top surface and fold it into semicircle or half.
  • Again spread ghee on the folded surface and once again fold it into half, you will get a triangular shape.
  • Roll it into desired size, remember to keep it slight thicker than chapati.
  • Put a tava on medium flame.
  • Place the palak paratha on hot tava.
  • Once you see some bubbles on paratha or after 10- 12 seconds flip it.
  • Apply some ghee or oil on top surface and flip it to another side.
  • Again apply ghee on other side.
  • Cook palak paratha by flipping it couple of times or till they are crisp and brown from both sides.
  • Make all the parathas this way.
  • Your delicious palak paratha is ready.
  • Serve hot with curd, pickle or tomato sauce.

Eggless Coconut Cookies Recipe/ Easy Homemade Coconut Cookies / How to make Coconut Cookies

Super easy to make, crunchy and loaded with the goodness of coconut this coconut cookies recipe is surprisingly delicious .

My kids love this simple cookies and for me its a tried and tested recipe over the years so I enjoy making this.

Baking this delicious coconut cookies is a treat for my sensory organ as I personally love the aroma of melted butter and coconut which comes from the oven.

In this recipe I am using all purpose flour ( you can also use whole wheat flour) and fresh homemade  unsalted butter.


Preparation Time:- 30 minutes

servings:- 16 cookies

Ingredients:-


  • All purpose flour- 200 grams or 1 cup
  • Desicated coconut- 1/2 cup
  • Butter- 1/2 cup or 100 grams( at room temperature)
  • Powdered sugar- 3/4 cup
  • Baking powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tsp


Method:-


  • Mix baking powder, soda to the flour and keep it aside.
  • Take butter and sugar in a bowl and mix it properly with the help of whisker.
  • Now add flour in the butter sugar mixture and mix well so that no lumps left.
  • Add coconut and mix well if needed add 1-2 tablespoon of milk and make a dough.
  • Shape the cookies into your desired shape and size.
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degree centigrade.
  • Place the cookies on baking tray, put it in the oven and set it at 200 degree for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes check if the cookies have turned light brown in the center and dark brown at the edges.
  • If yes then cookies are baked else set oven for 5 more minutes.
  • Takeout the coconut cookies from the oven and let them cool off.
  • You delicious coconut cookies is ready.
  • Enjoy this fresh cookies with your kids and family.
  • Store the remaining cookies in air tight container and enjoy later.

Potato Beans sabji/ How to make Spicy Potato Beans Fry/ How to make Basic Aloo Beans Fry

Potato Beans fry is a very basic dry sabji which used to cook in most of the Indian homes. It is very easy  recipe which you can prepare with minimal ingredients, and also takes very less time to cook if you have cut vegetables.

As potato and beans both are my absolute favoriate and we all aware of the goodness of green beans, I  use to make this recipe very often.

 It is a great side dish which you can serve with roti, paratha or puri . you can also serve it as a side dish with dal- rice. Personally I like it with my dal and rice.


Preparation time:-30 minutes

Servings:- 4

Ingredients:-


  • Beans- 250 grams
  • Potato- 1 medium sized
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  • Oil- 2 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  • Salt- 1 tsp
  • Corriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Dry mango powder- 1/2 tsp


Method:-


  • First peel off and chop potato, also wash and cut green beans into 1 inch pieces and keep it aside.
  • Now heat a pan over medium heat , now put oil in heated pan. 
  • Put cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Now add cut vegetables in the pan and mix well.
  • Let it cook for 5 minutes and stir occasionally.
  • Now add turmeric powder, salt, corriander powder and red chilly powder.
  • Mix well and cover it with lid.
  • After 3-4 minutes open the lid and mix well  and let it cook properly.
  • Check after 5 minutes if vegetables cook properly or not, if vegetables are cooked then its ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with roti or paratha or as a side dish with dal- rice.
