Spinach Paratha /Green Paratha /Palak Paratha /How to make Palak Paratha


 Palak Paratha  is a nutritious Yummy recipe often served as a breakfast. in this recipe wheat flour, spinach and little spices are added to make it flavorful.

When it comes for children it is the best option to add some greens to their diet as most of them are not fond of spinach. But this way they have it happily. This is  most healthy lunch box option for kids.

Very easy to make and doesn't require any side this, this is the best option for your lunch or dinner too. you can have it with curd , pickle, tomato sauce.






Preparation Time:- 30 minutes
servings:- 8-10 parathas

Ingredients:-

  • Whole wheat flour- 2 cups or 300 grams( 11/2 cups for dough and 1/2 cup for dusting)
  • Spinach- 250 grams
  • Green chilly- 1 or 2
  • Garlic- 3-4 cloves
  • Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Oil or ghee- 1/4 cup or as required (here I am using ghee)

Method-

  • Rinse the spinach leaves nicely.
  • Put the spinach leaves in boiling hot water for 2-3 minutes, drain the water and let it cool.
  • In a blender take blanched spinach leaves, garlic cloves and ginger and make a puree out of it.
  • Now in a large bowl take the flour , carom seeds and salt.
  • Add spinach puree and make a soft dough, if require add water or spinach stock for dough.
  • Take a medium size ball from the dough and roll it into a small circle.
  • Spread some ghee on the top surface and fold it into semicircle or half.
  • Again spread ghee on the folded surface and once again fold it into half, you will get a triangular shape.
  • Roll it into desired size, remember to keep it slight thicker than chapati.
  • Put a tava on medium flame.
  • Place the palak paratha on hot tava.
  • Once you see some bubbles on paratha or after 10- 12 seconds flip it.
  • Apply some ghee or oil on top surface and flip it to another side.
  • Again apply ghee on other side.
  • Cook palak paratha by flipping it couple of times or till they are crisp and brown from both sides.
  • Make all the parathas this way.
  • Your delicious palak paratha is ready.
  • Serve hot with curd, pickle or tomato sauce.
