The combination of matar or green peas and mushroom when cooked in onion tomato gravy along with cashew paste ,it tastes extremely yum.
In this recipe I have used fresh peas you can also use frozen one.
I have used mild spices you can add spices according to your taste.

- Mushroom- 250 grams
- Peas or Matar- 1 cup
- Onion- 2
- Tomato-4
- Ginger- 1 inch
- Garlic -12 -15 cloves
- Cashew -20
- Milk- 3 tbsp
- green chilly- 2
- Kasuri methi- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tsp
- Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
- Salt- to taste
- Garam masala powder- 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Asafoetida- 1 pinch
- Oil- 3 tbsp
Method :-
- Soak the cashew in milk for half an hour and make a paste.
- In a pan heat oil and add green chilly, ginger, garlic and onion and saute for 2 minutes.
- Now add tomatoes and salt, cover and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
- After 5 minutes turn off the flame and let it cool , and make a paste out of it and keep aside.
- In a pan take 2 tbsp of oil and add cumin seeds and hing and add prepared paste.
- Cook it 5 minutes by stirring continuously.
- Add dry spices and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add matar , cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes stir and add mushrooms and cashew paste and cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes remove the cover and mix and add kasuri methi and garam masala powder and again cover and cook for another 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes remove the lid and stir turn off the flame .
- Serve hot with chapati, naan puri or paratha.
