Cauliflower and Potato Spicy Dry Sabji / How to make Aloo Gobhi Masala / Halwai Style Aloo Gobhi ki Sabji

Aloo Gobhi masala is a very common yet very delicious sabji use to prepare almost every Indian household.

Today I am going to share the recipe of making aloo gobhi masala in very easy way and by using very less oil.




Preparation Time:- 50 minutes
Servings - 3-4

Ingredients:-


  • Gobhi (Cauliflower) -300 grans
  • Potato - 300 grams
  • onion- 2 medium size
  • Tomato - 2 medium size pureed
  • ginger garlic - 1 tbsp grated
  • turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Hing - a pinch
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
  • Green Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp chopped
  • Oil - 5 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1/2  inch cut into Julian's
  • green chilly -2 slitted


Method:-






  • First wash and cut cauliflower and peeled  potato in to around half inch pieces.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat add 3 tbsp of oil into it.
  • Once oil hot add cauliflower and fry it for 3 to 4 minutes on high flame.
  • After 4 minutes reduce the flame to medium , cover with Lid and cook for 5 minutes .
  • After 5 minutes open the lid , stir and add potatoes and cover the lid and cook it for 10 minutes.
  • Stir occasionally in between.
  • After 10 minutes check cauliflower and potato with a fork, if its done then cook it for another 3 - 4 minutes without covering, so that brown spot comes on potato and it fried.
  • Take  out the fried veggies from pan. 
  • In the same pan add 2 tbsp of oil.
  • Once oil hot add hing and cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Now add onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add ginger and garlic , mix well and cook it for another minute.
  • Now add pureed tomato , salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilly powder.
  • Mix well and cook it till oil separates from masala.
  • Now add cauliflower and potato and mix with soft hand.
  • Now add 3 to 4 tbsp of water, cover the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
  • After 2 minutes open the lid add garam masala, coriander leaves, juliennes of ginger and 2 slitted green chilly, cover the lid cook for 2 minutes.
  • After 2 minutes open the lid and fry it on high flame till it dry.
  • Your yummy spicy allo gobhi ki dry sabji is ready.
  • Serve hot with roti, puri or plain paratha.
