Vanilla Sponge Cake is a basic cake recipe which anyone can prepare in no time.
You can decorate the sponge according to your choice or you can add dry fruits to make it more flavourful.
It goes very well with evening tea.
Preparation Time:- 60 minutes
Servings :- 6 to 8
Ingredients:-
- All purpose flour - 1 and 1/2 cup or 200 grams
- Curd -1/2 cup (fresh)
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Butter - 1/2 cup or 80 grams
- Baking Powder - 1 tsp
- Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Vanilla extract- 1 tsp
Method:-
- First grease the 9 inch tin with butter.
- In a big bowl take curd, butter and sugar and mix well with the help of whisker.
- Now strain maida ,baking powder and baking soda.
- Now add the dry ingredients to the bowl.
- Mix and now add milk and make a smooth batter, make sure no lumps left.
- Now pour the batter into greased tin.
- Tap the tin to get rid of bubbles.
- Place the tin into preheated oven for 50 minutes.
- After 50 minutes take it out from oven .
- Check with knife ,if knife comes clean it means cake is done.
- cool it on wire rack for half an hour.
- Your yummy vanilla cake is ready.
